- Selecting “Sample Company File” under the No Company Open window.

- Following which selects Sample Company Files from the list.

- If your sample file opens, try opening the file in your local workspace.

- If still, you get the same error messages you are required to repair the QuickBooks installation, then.

Solution 2. Opening up QuickBooks Company file Locally

Open the Company file locally and it can help you to detect if the problem lies within the location of the company file. For which, move the company file to the desktop and try opening it from there. If you still face the error, it ensures that the file is damaged. Below steps can be followed to fix this,

- Move the folder to the same folder as the company file.

- Hover over to the .qbw extension file and right-click on it.

- Select “Copy” from the dropdown and go to the desktop 

- Then paste the same file copied on the desktop.

- Press the control key.

- Go to the No Company Open Window in the QuickBooks.

- Following this, click open and restore the current company file.

- End it by closing all the QuickBooks processes.

Solution 3. Closing the Entire QuickBooks Processes

- Firstly, open up your computer and as a windows administrator login to it.

- Press “control+shift+escape” altogether on your keyboard. It will display the Task Manager.

- Now select the Users tab to show processes for all the users, also closing all the QuickBooks processes.

  Solution 4. Configuring Antivirus Software and Firewall Ports

If the Antivirus Software installed in your workspace and firewall interfaces blocks the QuickBooks files to access it, you may face QuickBooks Error code 6143.
